Low Nure Valley history is strictly connected to the Anguissola family, who, in 1200/1300, had most of their possessions in this area; the Anguissola subsequently extended its dominion to the valley, which belonged to them until after the 19th century: its several castles are above all symbols of power .
Vigolzone Castle building was started in 1330 by the Anguissolas (as indicated by the stone inscription on the main tower). It has got a rectangular plan and the front side points eastwards; there are 2 big towers in alternate corners, and a huge angle tower in the left corner. The castle is well preserved.
Its the summer residence of the Landi marquis.
