The small community of Albareto, in the municipality of Ziano Piacentino, has ancient roots. It was included in the rural Estimi of the Farnese period and already at that time the presence of vines covering a large part of its territory was reported.
The Christian faith to which the population was closely linked was concretized with the construction of a sacellum, still known today as the Sacello di San Lupo.
Christian destination of pilgrims, it was rebuilt in 800 following the vote of a father for the miraculous healing of his son.
Today the building rises as a belvedere among slopes immersed in vineyards.
