Luciano Ricchetti was born in Piacenza in 1897, where he died in 1977.
His studies
His career began at the Gazzola Art Institute in Piacenza (1908-1909), later he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan, where he actually won the Award ‘Bozzi Caimi’ for the best head.
Luciano Ricchetti and his art
In Milan he learnt the modern flair of the ‘900, through which he will work during his long career. He used this artistic flair moving on to his personal vision. Actually this was the attitude which helped him to be a master of the Piacenza Land, where actually he decided to settle and shuttle himself off.
Thanks to the ‘Premio Cremona Award’, received by Luciano Ricchetti in 1939, he reached the success. After the exhibitions at the Biennale of Venice in 1932, 1940, 1942 and 1950 he receveid a lot of praises.
In 1934 he got the award for the ‘ first regional syndical of Emilia ‘. The art piece through which he got the award it’s titled” Modelle”, at that time it was placed insiede of the Modern Gallery Ricci Oddi.
Ricchetti was not only a painter but even a fresco painter and a sculptor. Insiede of the Borsa Gallery, in Piazza Cavalli Square and in some different palaces of the town it’s still possible to find some of his artworks.
Commemoration
In 1967 the Association of Piacenza ‘Amici dell’Arte’ decided to celebrate in its headquarters an important review exhibition to understand and look at his long and rich artistic career.
