During the autumn and winter months, the Ricci Oddi Gallery of Modern Art in Piacenza is hosting an exhibition dedicated to Armando Spadini (Florence, 1883 – Rome, 1925), a significant painter on the Italian art scene of the early 20th century.
Armando Spadini Exhibition at the Ricci Oddi Gallery
When: from 21 November 2026 to 28 February 2027
Where: Ricci Oddi Gallery of Modern Art, Via San Siro, 13
The exhibition stems from the presence of two of the artist’s masterpieces in the gallery’s permanent collection: Portrait of Mrs De Carolis with her Daughters (1908) and Lillo in his Cradle (1921), acquired by Giuseppe Ricci Oddi in 1925 and at the 1924 Venice Biennale.
The exhibition focuses on works from the years 1917–1922 to highlight the artist’s significance within the early 20th-century art scene. Each work in the exhibition has been selected for the attention it received from contemporary critics, for its inclusion in exhibitions of the time, and for its key role in the history of collecting the artist’s work.
