According to the tradition, Colombo’s family lived not far from Bettola, in a tower house in Pradello, where there is now the Cristoforo Colombo museum.
Tower houses are typical of mountain areas: rooms are one over the other and the building looks like a small tower made of stones):here it is possible to visit, upon booking, a small museum dedicated to Colombo.
The caretaker lives in the house next to the museum. For the visit, please contact Bettolas council.
From Cristoforo Colombo museum you may take a path leadig to Ebbio: these lands are called ‘red lands’ quoted by Domenico Colombo, father of Cristoforo Colombo, who told he had gone along the path several times to escape from Sforza’s army in 1440-1450.
