Isabella Ferrari, original surname Fogliazza, was born on the 31st March 1964 in Ponte dell’Olio. She is a movie’s and theater’s Italian actress.

She spent her childhood between her family house and Gropparello.

In 1974 she moved with her family to Piacenza.

Isabella Ferrari’s career

When she was 15 years old she won Miss Teenager contest. As a first award, she won a discographic contract with WEA, the Italian record Company, which gave to Isabella the opportunity to make a 45rpm record.

After this first experience Isabella moved to another career’s path.

In 1980 she appeared for the first time at the italian television for the ” Sotto le stelle” show of Gianni Boncompagni.

During this play she was noticed by the director  Carlo Vanzina and in 1981 she played as Selvaggia in ” Sapore di mare” movie, her first one.

When she turned 18 years old she decided to move to Rome and start definitively her actress career, between movies and theater.

In 1988 Isabella was chosen by Marco Tullio Giordana for a role in Appuntamento a Liverpool in which she had to perform as a hopeless girl who wass ready to kill the hooligan who had murdered her father.

In 1989 Isabella played in Willy Signori e vengo da lontano, in 1994 she is in Cronaca di un amore violato by Giacomo Battiato.

In 1995 she took part to the “Mostra del Cinema di Venezia”(Venice Film Festival), where she won Coppa Volpi(Volpi Cup) award as the best actress for her role in Romanzo di un giovane povero by Ettore Scola with Alberto Sordi.

In 2000 and in 2001 Isabella played as police chief in the two series of “Distretto di Polizia” one made by Renato de Maria ( who will later become her housband) and the other one made by Antonello Grimaldi.

Isabella appeared in many other movies: Vite sospese by marco Turco, La lingua del santo by Carlo Mazzacurati, Il seme della discordia by Pappi Corsicato, Saturno contro and Un giorn0 perfetto by Ferzan Ozpetek, Caos calmo by Antonello Grimaldi with Nanni Moretti, Due partite by Enzo Monteleone. She even played in a tiny role in To Rome with love by Woody Allen.

In 2010 Isabella is back to Italian television into the series” Nel bianco”.

In 2009 she played in “Storia di Laura”, a television movie by Andrea Porporati, this movie will be published in 2011.

Isabella Ferrari took part to the Rome film Festival 2012 in E la chiamano estate, directed by Paolo Franchi, she won the Marc’Aurelio d’Argento Award as the best actress.
