The small oratory dedicated to San Genesio and San Geminiano is located in Mignano in Val D’Arda and dates back to a period when pilgrimages along the nearby Via Francigena were very frequent.
The building is characterized by a gabled facade with a single portal and preserves a semicircular apse from the Romanesque period (12th century) decorated with a valuable fresco depicting St. James.
The oratory of Mignano probably stands on land previously considered sacred; in fact, some tombs of Lombard origin, predating the building of this sacred place, were excavated in its vicinity.
