SAN GIOVANNI MONASTERY AND CHURCH

Religious architecture

The present building dates back to the half of the 17th century, and it was built by S. bernards Reformed Monks Cistercian religious order on a pre-existing building dating back to 1451. Anyway, in the previous periods also the presence of monks belonging to the Humiliati order was reported. A desecrated, octagonal church is in the centre of the monastery. It presently hosts theTown Hall offices.
