SANTA CHIARA CHURCH

Religious architecture
Santa Chiara, ph Archivio Comune di Piacenza

Built on a previous medieval building, it dates back to the beginning of the 17th century. A crucifix which is thought to be miracolous is preserved here. A legend is connected to the sacred image: in the Middleages, during a snowy night, two angels, disguised as two handsome young men, knocked on the convent door, and left a box. They said they would pick it up later but they never came back; the box contained the crucifix which is still adored today.
