Known as Trabacianum, the fortress was first mentioned in the 11th century, when it sheltered a nobleman run away from town. Up to the first decade ol 1900 Travazzano was also summer residence of Piacenza Bishop.The castle has the traditional layout of Piacenza area: a square plan with towers at the corners. Only two still exist nowadays, a square and a circular one. In one of the halls there’s a precious fireplace decorated with Chiapponis coat of arms:also the lacunar ceilings are interesting.The building belongs to Bologna seminary.
