Castell’Arquato returns to host traditional event
Rivivi il Medioevo – Relive the Middle Ages
When: September 13-15 2024
Where: village along the Arda River, Castell’Arquato
The village of Castell’Arquato, at the foot of the Val d’Arda hills, offers a settlement characterized by stone houses and well-preserved medieval buildings. The Town Hall Square, which will host the event, is overlooked by the ancient Collegiate Church of Santa Maria Assunta, with its characteristic golden color, due to the calcarenite that makes up its covering; the Palazzo del Podestà, a symbol of civic power, built from the end of the 13th century; and the Rocca Viscontea, an expression of military power and Milanese domination over the territory.
The presence of this medieval-era heritage has brought reenactment events to the village.
