The Monument to the Fallen Soldiers of the Two Wars in Bobbio<\/a> is located in St. Francis Square and it is made of stone for the base, bronze for the statue, and marble for the slabs and obelisk.<\/p>\n

The work<\/h3>\n

A bronze statue depicting an Alpine soldier on the left holds up another dying one and both are clutching the flag. The statue stands on a stone wall, behind it a large white marble obelisk engraved with the names of the fallen of the 1915 – 1918 war.
\nAround the wall that leads to the monument there are slabs with the names of the deceased and missing of World War II. On the ground some bombs from the period surround the monument.<\/p>\n

From historical sources dating back to 1925, it seems that Bobbio had already commemorated the fallen of World War I with a memorial, but a desire soon arose to create a monument similar to the examples in larger cities. he work took shape a few years later, as indicated by the inscription on the marble: ANNO VII ( or seventh year of the fascist era, which corresponds to the period from October 29, 1928 to October 28, 1929).
