On Christmas Eve, the village of Rivalta will be transformed into a miniature Bethlehem, offering visitors a unique and immersive experience.<\/p>\n

Live nativity scene in Rivalta<\/h3>\n

When<\/strong>: Tuesday, 24 December, from 9.30 p.m.
\nWhere<\/strong>: Rivalta, Comune di Gazzola
\nThe village will welcome everyone with an evocative Christmas atmosphere, featuring costumed characters, traditions and lots of warmth. Mulled wine, hot tea, a miraculous herbal tea from the herbalist and Palestinian bread prepared by skilled bakers will offer an unmissable opportunity to immerse yourself in the most magical atmosphere of the year.<\/p>\n

A journey into the past<\/h3>\n

The medieval village of Rivalta, with its extraordinary beauty, becomes the ideal setting for the Living Nativity Scene. An event that dates back to 1991, when Don Sandro Civardi, together with parishioners and Count Orazio Zanardi Landi, conceived this historical re-enactment. Even today, the Living Nativity Scene is an unmissable event involving over 100 participants, representing ancient crafts and significant moments from the Nativity.<\/p>\n

A living Bethlehem<\/h3>\n

The village will be populated by characters from trades of the past, such as carpenters, blacksmiths, potters, weavers, spinners, and King Herod’s concubines, all illuminated by the torches and lanterns that warm the narrow streets. An experience that will make you feel part of history.<\/p>\n

Program<\/strong><\/h3>\n

  • 21.30<\/strong>: entrance into the village of figures representing ancient crafts and shepherds.<\/li>\n
  • 22.30<\/strong>: procession of the High Priest.<\/li>\n
  • 22.45<\/strong>: King Herod’s procession leaves the castle.<\/li>\n
  • 23.10<\/strong>: the Censor sets off for the place of the census.<\/li>\n
  • 23.10<\/strong>: the Three Wise Men meet the astrologer.<\/li>\n
  • 23.30<\/strong>: arrival of Mary and Joseph with the donkey.<\/li>\n
  • 23.50<\/strong>: everyone heads to church for Holy Mass.<\/li>\n
  • At the end of Mass, visit to the stable to pay homage to the Baby Jesus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Visits to Rivalta Castle<\/h3>\n

    On 24 December, it will be possible to visit Rivalta Castle.
    \nGuided tours<\/strong> are available upon reservation at 11 a.m and 3.30 p.m. <\/strong>(call +39 339 2987892).<\/p>\n

    Admission is by voluntary donation<\/strong> and the event will take place even in case of bad weather.<\/p>\n
