After a slight ascent the path continues in the woods. Before arriving at Lago Nero there is a large mire full of flora, from rowan to crocus, to snowdrop, orchid and elder, up to the gentian. In swamps there are red frogs, tritons and salamanders, whereas in the lake you can find tenches, carps and trouts.
\nThe basin is of glacial origin as witnessed by the famous mountain pine, a surviving colony of glaciers from ten millions years ago.
