Every castle has its own ghost; the one of Grazzano Visconti is female and named Aloisa.

Aloisa: the ghost of Grazzano

According to the legend, Aloisa was the natural daughter of Giovanni Anguissola, the owner of the castle of Grazzano. Aloisa wasn’t so beautiful and not so tall, but thanks to an arranged wedding she got married with a third cousin.
Aloisa fell in love immediately with the handsome guy, but unfortunately he never returned love back to her, indeed, she was abandoned and she died from sorrow.
From that moment on Aloisa is considered the protector of all the unrequited lovers;
People living this kind of situation, still nowadays turns to her. They generally choose an  object able to comfort her and demostrate appreciation towards her. People leave the gift on her sculpture near the Biscione Square.

The sculpture

According to the tradition, the features of the sculpture were decided by Giuseppe Visconti di Modrone, the owner of the castle from 1900.
It is said that he met around the castle the phantom of the woman and he decided to create her figure. The sculpture shown between the streets of the castle is proposed inside the yard of the castle and in one of the room too. Through the visit of the Castle, it’s possible to discover the supposed room of Aloisa.
