On the third weekend of August (22-24 August 2025), every summer since 1977, the Pro Loco of Vezzolacca organizes the
Festa delle patate di Vezzolacca (Potato Festival)
Vezzolacca is the southernmost and highest hamlet in the municipality of Vernasca, among the first mountains of the Upper Arda Valley. Since the 1970s, the soil of Vezzolacca has proved particularly suitable for potato cultivation, particularly certain cultivars selected for their yield in such a special soil. Among the native varieties grown today: Spunta, Kennebec and Desirée.
Since 1977, the razdore (housewives) have been gathering in the Pro Loco’s kitchens to make the homemade products that the festival offers each year, all made strictly from local potatoes. Particularly worth trying is the potato cake, prepared the night before the festival to ensure maximum freshness!
Every evening: opening of the food stands at 7 p.m.
Program being finalized.
