Bobbio offers several stretches of river where nature warmly welcomes our animal friends. Here are the best spots to enjoy a dip together:
- San Salvatore. Stretching from the border with Corte Brugnatella to the historic San Salvatore fountain, there are spacious areas on both banks of the river. It’s a perfect spot for those seeking tranquillity and clear waters where your dog can swim.
Map - The Lago delle Agostine area. About 500 metres downstream from the picturesque Ponte Gobbo (the symbol of Bobbio), a wonderful stretch opens up at ‘Lago delle Agostine’. Here, all the way to the junction with the Strada dei Gerbidi, the river flows gently, offering a safe and fun environment for water play.
Map - Cavarelli and Mezzano Scotti. Heading downstream from the Mezzano Scotti Provincial Bridge, towards the border with Coli in the Cavarelli area, there is another spot much loved by dog owners. The wide banks allow you to find your own quiet spot to relax without missing out on a refreshing dip.

Tips for an Unforgettable Experience
To make your day perfect, there are a few things to bear in mind:
- Although the river is refreshing, a bowl of water and shelter from the sun are essential for your dog’s well-being.
- Always bring poo bags to help keep these wonderful beaches clean for all future visitors.
- A happy dog is a well-behaved dog; please ensure your dog does not disturb the local wildlife or other bathers.
A Small Gesture of Respect for Our Community
To ensure that the Trebbia remains a magical place for everyone, Bobbio Town Council has set out some simple rules for coexistence in By-law No. 592.
We kindly ask you to cooperate by avoiding allowing dogs into the water or letting them swim in the sections not mentioned above (the more central and crowded areas) during the summer months (May to September), especially between 8.00 am and 8.00 pm. This small gesture allows everyone – families, tourists and residents – to enjoy the river in harmony, whilst preserving the cleanliness and tranquillity of this precious ecosystem.
