It’s inside St. Peter’s Church in Castell’Arquato there is the tomb of the Count Sforza Sforza di Santa Fiora. It was built in the sixteenth century by Barbieri.
The monument, which was reassembled after having been forgotten for a long time, lost some sculptured parts; it represets Count Sforza kneeling and wearing “Roman” clothes; he’s surrounded by statues of Prudence and Fortitude. The sarcophagus, composed of a slab of black marble and two reliefs, is supported by two Greek sphinxes.
