Bettola is supposed to be Christopher Columbus’s native town:according to the tradition his house is in Pradello: it’s a characteristic medieval tower house. Tower houses are typical constructions in mountain areas:they look like towers, with small rooms one over the other, and they are made of stone. This house hosts a small museum dedicated to Columbus, open upon reservation. The room on the ground floor displays a collection of documents witnessing the presence of the Columbus family in the area.
Colombo’s Tower can be visited upon reservation. To book your visit please call +39.328.8714929 or send an e-mail to Nuovo Comitato di Pradello at c.pradello@libero.it, indicating your telephone number for further information on the visit.
