The important farnese dynasty dominated Italy between XIV and XVIII century, they ruled the Parma and Piacenza Duchy. The most well known members of the dynasty are Paolo III the Pope and Pier Luigi Farnese.

Immediately after the birth of the Parma and Piacenza Duchy, Pier Luigi Farnese decided to abandon the Castro land to reach Piacenza, leaving the Apostolic Chamber’s land.(Vatican?)

Suddenly this esteemed family decided to settle in town and between many other affairs, they stayed until 1731, when Antonio, the last successorof the dynasty, died.

The Farnese dominion left many unbeliveble buildings. As symbol of their power, these buildings represent a specific Renaissance time.
