The single nave church with side chapels was built by the Franciscan friars in the second half of the 16th century, together with the background monastery. It was widely rearranged in the following centuries, restored in the 18th century and decorated with several paintings in1898.Coats of arms of Fiorenzuolas families are painted in the cloister. The monastery has hosted “Lucca” kindergarten and a small theatre since 1863.
