Concorto Film Festival, the international short film competition, is held a few kilometres from Piacenza, in the picturesque setting of Parco Raggio in Pontenure.
The event saw its first beginnings in 2002, and over the years has become a point of reference in the world of short films, gaining increasing importance among foreign authors. During each edition, selected short films are screened in the presence of their authors. At the end of the screenings, a jury of professionals decides the winner of the first prize, the Asino d’Oro.
Concorto is the end-of-summer event in the Piacenza area, where cinema becomes the absolute protagonist.
The main competition features short films, some of which have already won awards on the international scene. It is flanked by collateral initiatives, such as the festival’s special section dedicated to a particular country, created in 2009, which aims to shed light on new and unusual perspectives on the cultural and socio-political context of the country in question.
Live music events and DJ sets are held during the festival evenings.
