Carpaneto Piacentino at the foot of the Nure and Chero valleys hosts an annual festival dedicated to one of Piacenza’s three PDO cured meats, the Coppa.
Coppa Festival

Coppa is produced from the back of the pig’s neck. Each animal allows the production of 2 coppe. The regulations state that only meat from pigs born, raised, fed and slaughtered in the neighbouring territories must be processed, and maturing must also take place in the Piacenza area.
During the festival, food stands, a market, entertainment for children and live music enliven the streets and squares of the centre of Carpaneto.
