Piacenza celebrates International Jazz Day as part of the Jazz Mood Day event with three days of events – from 28 to 30 April – organised by the Nicolini Conservatory and the Piacenza Jazz Club, featuring young Nicolini musicians.
Duke Ellington – Sacred Concerts
When: Sunday 28 April, 5 p.m.
Where: Sala dei Teatini
On stage the Nicolini Big Band, conducted by Antonio Ciacca, and the Placentia Gospel Choir conducted by Francesco Zarbano. Event included in the Allegro con Brio festival with free admission.
Jazz: from Students to Students
When: Monday 29 April, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon
Where: Concert Hall of the Conservatorio Nicolini, Via Santa Franca 35
Lecture-concert in collaboration with the Piacenza Jazz Club, a musical journey along the traces of jazz, from the 20th century to the present day. Free admission event open to all.

The actual jazz day, with open-air concerts throughout the afternoon, will be held
- at 4.30 p.m. in Piazzetta San Francesco
- at 5.30 p.m. in Largo Battisti
- at 6.30 pm in Piazza Duomo
- at 7.30 pm at the Dubliners Irish Pub
- at 10 pm at the Dubliners Irish Pub with the final jam session
