The exhibition “Spazi in attesa -Exhibitions and Dialogues” aims to collect and disseminate the results of a larger project, offering an opportunity to reflect on possible interpretations of contemporary Piacenza. A city characterized by disused, unfinished or marginal spaces, located both in the suburbs and in the heart of the urban center.
Former farmsteads, old artisanal warehouses, disused hotels, minor factories, residual areas between infrastructure and edges of the countryside, the Po River and its banks, unfinished construction sites: these are the scenarios that tell the story of the city’s contemporaneity. These spaces and architectures have over time been abandoned, neglected or forgotten, sometimes arousing indifference or disinterest. Yet, they are the protagonists of a new way of looking at the city, one that recognizes them not only as physical and material, but as signs of an ongoing evolution.
