From the city centre to the countryside: the most beautiful markets in the Piacenza area

News

If you love markets, the city of Piacenza and its surroundings offer plenty of opportunities to shop all year round.

In the city

Every first Sunday of the month – except January, February, July and August – one of the historic streets in the city centre hosts the Via Roma Street Market, a regular event for all lovers of vintage, modern antiques and reuse. Here you can find clothing, accessories, books, comics, vinyl records, toys and unique items, ready to be given a new lease of life.

In Piazza Duomo, one of the main squares in the city of Piacenza, there is a new market dedicated exclusively to those who create products with their own hands: Manufatto, with six different dates in 2026.

Staying in the city, every fourth Sunday of the month there is also the Mercatino di Spazio4: a day dedicated to socialising and the culture of reuse.

The former Church of Carmine once again hosts Creare, the event dedicated to high-end craftsmanship, with the spring edition from 21 to 22 March 2026, which offers a spring and a Christmas edition every year.

Periodically – with at least one Christmas and one spring edition – there are also the A/mano market, dedicated mainly to crafts and self-production, and the Abat-jour vintage market, where you can find vintage and second-hand treasures.

In the province

If you leave the city, there are many more opportunities to browse vintage items and memories of times gone by:

  • every first Sunday of the month, Cortemaggiore hosts one of the largest and most important antique markets in the province, with exhibitors from all over Italy lining the main streets and under the town’s arcades.
  • On the second Sunday of the month, Pontenure hosts an antiques market.
  • In Caorso, on the road to Cremona along the River Po, a second-hand market is held on the fourth Sunday of the month, catering to all tastes and budgets, where you can find vinyl records, comics, gifts and furniture. Also on the fourth Sunday of the month, you can browse the market in Castelvetro Piacentino, on the border with Cremona.

Other events in the province include: Abat-jour vintage market (the Christmas edition is usually held in the city, while the spring, summer and autumn editions are held in a courtyard in the countryside outside the city); in Val Trebbia, Bobbio Vintage is held along the streets of the medieval village.
