The Chisöla (focaccia with ciccioli – pressed cakes of fatty pork) is a De.Co (Municipality Denomination) of the Municipality of Borgonovo Val Tidone.
Legend has it that Frederik Barbarossa’s army was resupplied with this product during one of their travels in the area where the municipality of Borgonovo Val Tidone was founded. It happened in 1155.
The product belongs to he paesant tradition. The ingredients are simple and nourrishing: flour, yeast, water, salt, lard, ciccioli.
Ciccioli give sapidity and caloric intaketo the focaccia.
Every year in September a feast celebrate the product in Borgonovo V.T.
