Throughout the year, numerous concerts and musical events bring the city and province of Piacenza to life, covering a range of genres to suit everyone’s tastes.

Jazz, classical, contemporary: choose your music

Jazz lovers shouldn’t miss the annual Piacenza Jazz Fest, which features a line-up of internationally renowned artists every year. The closing event will take place on 30 April to mark International Jazz Day.

For those who prefer classical music, there are the Matinées at Palazzo Farnese: five morning performances featuring works and music by W. A. Mozart. The upcoming dates are: Sunday 12 April and Sunday 3 May 2026, at 10.30 am, at the Pinacoteca dei Musei Civici in Palazzo Farnese.

From 3 to 24 May 2026, the new edition of the Bibiena Art Festival takes place, a festival dedicated to Baroque music.

If you’re interested in contemporary music, the Musiche Nuove festival in Piacenza is unmissable, dedicated to the most sophisticated and vibrant musical languages. The upcoming dates are: 28 March 2026 with Silvia Cignoli in concert, 10 April 2026 with Iztok Koren and Raphael Roginski, and 2 May with The Necks at the Auditorium Santa Margherita in Piacenza.

The Teatro Politeama in Piacenza offers a packed programme of concerts from autumn to spring. On 9 April at 9 pm, you can attend a Tribute to Ennio Morricone – Tebaide Orchestra, and the following day a concert dedicated to Queen.

In Castel San Giovanni too, the Teatro Verdi is hosting a music festival featuring a varied programme of events.

For younger audiences, the Risonanze 2.0 Vol. 1 music festival, featuring live bands, will take place on 4 April at the Giardini Sonori in Piacenza.

Towards summer

In summer, Palazzo Farnese hosts a series of concerts featuring the biggest names in Italian music. On 3 July, Francesco Gabbani will perform in the courtyard of the Palazzo as part of his tour!
