Throughout the year, numerous concerts and musical events bring the city and province of Piacenza to life, covering a range of genres to suit everyone’s tastes.
Jazz, classical, contemporary: choose your music
Jazz lovers mustn’t miss the Summertime in Jazz festival, which began in 2014 as the summer edition of the Piacenza Jazz Fest and is characterised by its travelling nature. Running in parallel is Jazz SummerWine, which combines jazz music with wine tastings.
Classical music and opera
For those who prefer classical music and opera, there are several summer events.
Bobbio Classica, from mid-August, takes place at Ponte Gobbo, the cloister of San Colombano and the Philippe d’Averio Auditorium. New for 2026 is the DeA Festival, a series of events dedicated to classical music and opera, set against the backdrop of the Val Nure and Val Tidone’s natural and iconic landscapes.
From 13 to 26 June 2026, the Carpaneto Music Festival takes place in the splendid setting of Palazzo Scotti da Vigoleno, in Carpaneto.
July kicks off with the early music festival Notti di luna e corde pizzicate in the castles of the Val Luretta. In the same month, Castell’Arquato hosts the Illica Festival.
On 11 July, the courtyard of Cadeo Castle comes alive with VivaVerdi, the Verdi Grand Gala conducted by Maestro Milo Martani. On the same evening, Vigolzone Castle also opens its doors to opera for a new edition of the Opera Night at the Castle event.
Contemporary music, blues and folk
In summer, Palazzo Farnese hosts a series of concerts featuring the biggest names in Italian music. On 3 July, Francesco Gabbani will perform in the courtyard of the Palazzo as part of his tour!
From June to October, the Val Tidone Festival takes place, featuring a programme of concerts in venues of particular historical, architectural and natural interest throughout the valley. Among the nationally and internationally renowned guests are Nada, Raphael Gualazzi, Paolo Jannacci and Petra Magoni.
There will also be plenty of events dedicated to blues and folk, including the Dal Mississippi al Po and Travo Balafolk festivals. The province will become a stage for Irlanda in musica, an event taking place in Bobbio at the end of July.

The summer season concludes with Tendenze and Bleech Festival, in September in the city.
